Training

Training is a strategic pillar of the MAPEX project and an essential component for consolidating specialised, multidimensional, outcomes-oriented pharmaceutical care in outpatient clinics of Hospital Pharmacy Departments.

This section brings together educational activities, resources and training initiatives aimed at strengthening the competencies of hospital pharmacists in key areas such as the CMO methodology —Capacity, Motivation and Opportunity—, care stratification, motivational interviewing, telepharmacy, the measurement of health outcomes and patient experience, and the continuous improvement of care processes.

The objective is to provide useful, up-to-date content that can be applied to daily practice, fostering the harmonisation of knowledge, professional development and the transfer of innovation among Hospital Pharmacy teams.

Through this space, MAPEX reinforces its commitment to the training of professionals and to the evolution of a more efficient, collaborative care model adapted to the needs of patients and the healthcare system.

Pharmaceutical Care Course in the MAPEX Setting

Pharmaceutical care for patients attending outpatient clinics of Hospital Pharmacy Departments has become one of the most important areas of these services in recent years, due to its major care impact on patients.

The hospital pharmacist is established as a key member of multidisciplinary healthcare teams and in the pharmacotherapeutic follow-up of patients. Therefore, continuous training is required.

It is important to develop value propositions that facilitate the involvement of the pharmacist in the comprehensive healthcare process of patients attended in outpatient clinics.

The development of the MAPEX initiative has transformed the methodology applied to the management of this type of patient.

Motivia-D Delta Hepatitis Course

Motivia-D is a training initiative aimed at strengthening the competencies of hospital pharmacists in motivational interviewing, clinical communication and therapeutic support for patients with delta hepatitis, within the framework of specialised pharmaceutical care in outpatient clinics.

The course integrates the principles of the CMO methodology —Capacity, Motivation and Opportunity—, with particular emphasis on the motivational dimension, in order to help professionals identify barriers, explore individual needs, improve adherence, support shared decision-making and promote a more effective and personalised care relationship.

As an innovative element, Motivia-D incorporates artificial intelligence tools applied to practical training in motivational interviewing, enabling professionals to work with simulated clinical scenarios, improve question formulation, train empathic responses, detect areas for improvement in communication and reinforce the application of conversational strategies adapted to patients with delta hepatitis.

Delta hepatitis represents a particularly suitable clinical context for this approach, given its care complexity, the emotional impact associated with the diagnosis, the need for close follow-up, the importance of therapeutic adherence and the incorporation of new treatment options that require clear, structured information adapted to each patient profile.

Through this course, MAPEX promotes practical, innovative training aligned with the CMO model, aimed at equipping hospital pharmacists with advanced communication competencies, incorporating artificial intelligence as a support tool for professional learning and improving the quality of pharmaceutical care provided to patients with delta hepatitis.
