Programs to improve the use of antimicrobials (ATM) have been developed to optimize the treatment of infections, reduce the morbidity and mortality of patients who suffer from them, limit the appearance of multidrug-resistant pathogens (MDR) and reduce unnecessary consumption of ATMs. . In patients admitted to Intensive Care Services or Units (ICU), the use of one or more ATMs during their stay is common. To extend the application of the PROA in the ICU, it is necessary to train the professionals who carry out their work in this area. The PROA teams are made up of multidisciplinary work groups made up of intensive care physicians, infectious disease specialists, pharmacists and microbiologists. For this reason, this training course is proposed for intensive care physicians and hospital pharmacists with the intention of providing the necessary knowledge to participate in a specific PROA program adapted to the particular characteristics of critically ill patients.
